Notes

Jenna Sutch is a multidisciplinary storyteller graduating from the prestigious Australian Film Television Radio School (AFTRS) with a Master's in Directing and the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) with a degree in Acting. Jenna's unique approach to screen storytelling is rooted in 'invisible acting,' where subtle, nuanced performances are supported throughout the entire filmmaking process to create naturalistic screen moments that feel improvised. Her graduating project, Death Doula, exemplifies this approach and has garnered significant attention on the festival circuit, winning the 'Outstanding Director Drama' award at the Catalyst Content Festival and 'Best Student Series' at Melbourne Webfest. In 2024, Death Doula won 'Best Drama' and 'Best Student Film' at the South Australian Screen Awards. Currently, Jenna is weaving together an experimental documentary exploring memory, love, and loss through the lens of her 104-year-old grandmother, Cora, while also developing her debut feature film, Walls & Windows. Notable short films include COME INTO THE GARDEN (2018) & BEATS (2016) AWARDS: DEATH DOULA 2024 WINNER Best Drama South Australian Film Awards 2024 WINNER Best Student Film.
